New Chief Executive appointed at Public-i Group Ltd

21/01/2010

We are pleased to announce as of the 11th January 2010, the appointment of Catherine Howe as Chief Executive of Public-i Group Ltd.

Catherine has been with Public-i since 2002 and moves from the position of Operations Director. Catherine takes on the role with considerable experience of the industry having worked with online communities and social networking tools for over 10 years. Initially developing learning applications at the London Business School she was founder director of Etribes.com – an online community consultancy which specialised in working with third sector organisations such as Christian Aid, YMCA and YHA. Since joining Public-i, Catherine has been instrumental in the development of both the core webcasting product and now the new Citizenscape platform.

Catherine’s appointment coincides with Keith Young stepping down after over 8 years as Chief Executive of the Company. “Keith has done a fantastic job in leading the business to where it is now. Public-i has always focused on getting the very best out of technology to support the relationship between citizens and councils, and, as the social media world grows in significance for all of us it is really exciting to be able to offer local government some really practical solutions of how to get the best out of it.” Catherine Howe, Chief Executive Officer

This new appointment follows other changes to the board with the appointment of Alan Jones, former CEX at Somerset County Council as a Director at Public-i.

“2010 marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of Public-i (then called UKCouncil Ltd), the change in technology and user expectation since then would have been hard to predict.   The team at Public-i have been at the forefront of new developments in public sector provision throughout this period and with the launch of Citizenscape in 2010 will once again demonstrate why we are the leading UK, and in fact European supplier, of interactive engagement tools for the public sector.   I would like to thank Keith for the leadership and hard work he put in to get the Company to this stage.”   Roderick Corrie, Chairman
