ePetitions
Developed around Local Government best practice and working closely with Bristol CC and Napier University. Public-i’s open source petitioning tool manages the workflow of petition submission – both paper and electronic – through their entire lifecycle, from creation to submission, to the Council and eventual feedback and closure.
The system has been designed to be easy to use and caters for the needs of Citizens, Members and Officers.
Petitioning is an easy to implement but highly significant tool in an overall engagement strategy - one which can take people from being passive observers of the debate to actually participating - albeit on a relatively small scale.
Open source technology means that the system has been written using non-proprietary technologies that are free for anyone to use.
